MARKETING NOISEMAKER (B2C)

Weather Central, LLC located in beautiful and award winning Madison, Wisconsin is looking for a marketing noisemaker to join our team. This person will be responsible for creating stories and generating buzz on a daily basis through social media, video sharing, and blogs as well as “traditional” marketing and public relation channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Initiate and deploy online viral marketing campaigns
  • Actively post in forums
  • Maintain App Stores
    • Update product descriptions, images and features on mobile app store fronts
    • Supervise submission, publishing and promotion of new applications
    • Respond to consumer emails
• Actively engage social media
  • Maintain multiple blogs
  • Update Facebook status and recruit “Friends”
  • Tweet multiple times daily
• Refresh website content and drive search engine optimization
• Produce, upload, tag Youtube videos
• Identify and consistently communicate directly with the thought leaders in the online/mobile space
  • Bloggers
  • Columnists
  • Tech reviewers
• Identify sub-categories of user types, online communities and the like, plan and execute messaging campaigns to same
• Create and execute email campaigns
• Measure effectiveness of activities and adjust tactics as needed

Additional Duties:

• Assist marketing team with other activities
• Create content for corporate website, email blasts, etc.
• Assist in tradeshow and event content creation
• Other duties responsibilities and development opportunities as assigned

Education and Training: BS or BA degree required; Business, Marketing or Communications major preferred

Skills, Experience, Abilities:

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
• Must be self-directed and be able to work with strict deadlines and minimal supervision
• SEO experience helpful
• Excellent written and verbal skills are required
• Proven ability to work in a team environment is required
• Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and proofreading is essential

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit and work with computers for long periods of time
• Typical open office environment
• Occasional travel required – approximately 15%
• Occasional lifting of packages up to 50 pounds
