Director, Strategic Business Development

Position Summary

Drive the identification, validation, and tactical execution of business development and distribution channel
strategies while enhancing the Enterprise Division’s financial performance, efficiency, capabilities, and
reach within the wind energy marketplace. Coordinate and participate in cultivating, evaluating, and
negotiating of strategic partnerships and sustainable business relationships to achieve business objective,
revenue and profitability targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance, and support in assessing and developing new business development initiatives.
    • Build, maintain and sustain relationships with wind energy industry key decision makers.
    • Coordinate sales, marketing, and service program development with appropriate staff.
    • Maintain, and continuously improve, a consistent methodology for the screening and prioritization of
      business opportunities and resource allocation.
    • Evaluate Weather Central's portfolio of products and services, assess gaps relative to defined
      distribution channels and recommend approaches to close gaps.
    • Build, manage and analyze customer and competitor profiles.
    • Conduct and participate in financial evaluations and due diligence reviews of potential customers.
    • Coordinate and participate in transaction negotiations.
    • Coordinate and conduct the project management and implementation of approved business
      development opportunities.

    Education and Training

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
      • 5 to 7 years Demonstrated achievements with progressive responsibilities in business development, strategy development and deployment, effective channel management and sales success within the wind renewable energy sector.

      Skills, Experience and Abilities

        • Superior business intellect in the wind renewable energy section.
        • Demonstrated business development, negotiating, relationship management, and selling skills.
        • Demonstrated and on-going business and working relationships with key customers in targeted distribution channels.
        • Comprehensive understanding of wind energy industry, distribution channels, decision making processes, and key decision makers.
        • Thorough understanding of wind energy product and program management, business opportunities, and methodology to leverage effective relationship management techniques.

        Work Environment and Physical Requirements

          • Normal office environment
          • Driving an automobile, van or truck on public roads and highways
          • Lifting and/or carrying objects 20- 50 pounds
          • Occasional overnight travel by auto and plane
          • Using a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data
          • Dealing with employees, supplies, and /or customers in high stress situations
