Senior Back-End Engineer– Andover, MA

    • Produce and maintain fast, scalable database components. 
    • Create and maintain ingestion scripts that ingest data from many sources and formats. 
    • Provide interfaces to the database that incorporate complex business requirements. 
    • Work with product managers and other software engineers to build the back end infrastructure that feeds complex web apps and other deliverables from mockups and requirements 
    • Support and continuously improve the existing codebase 
    • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical people 
    •  You’ll be expected to come up with cool new ideas and designs, not just be a code monkey
    • Be proactive in keeping your skills fresh

    Qualifications and Experience

      • Extensive experience with database design and implementation. 
      • Strong Linux skills. 
      • Experience with patterns and best practices for writing and organizing code and components.
      • Savvy understanding of database design principles
      • A strong background in OOP
      • Familiarity with database analytics and optimization
      • Experience with MySQL strongly desired.
      • Experience using C# and working in a .NET MVC3 framework is plus.
      • The role is not 100% back-end focused and requires a well-rounded engineer.

    Education and Training

      • BS Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
      • 4+ years of relevant experience with progressive responsibilities in developing backend solutions.

      You will have to be able to code in the MVC layer as well as the back end so you should be willing to work on the front end, be able to apply yourself to solving problems, and know what makes for good, maintainable, and scalable code.
